Market-fresh mixed metal and sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Tiffany & Co. In New York, ca 1880. Straight sides with curved shoulder and s-scroll handle; short and straight neck with lip spout. Spot-hammered ground with applied ornament: meandering leafing branches and tendrils with pendant mokumé gourds. Large dragonfly with bulgy exophthalmic eyes and a couple discreetly darting butterflies. Fully marked: "Tiffany & Co / 3859 Makers 8723 / Sterling-Silver / -and- / Other-Metals / 121". Dimensions: H 8 x W 6 5/8 x D 4 7/8 in.
