Tepco Red Magnolia Water Pitcher Restaurant Ware Ice Lip Vintage
Very rare and desirable Tepco water pitcher with ice lip in the Red Magnolia pattern. Sturdy restaurant ware in mint condition. TEPCO or Tepco (Technical Porcelain and China Ware Company), was founded in 1918 by John Battista Pagliero, who had emigrated to California from Italy with his brother in 1908. The original Tepco factory was located in in El Cerrito, California. During their heyday from the 1930's to the 1960's, they manufactured sturdy restaurantware to the hospitality industry and U. Government (Navy, Army, and VA). I'm sorry, I don't know exact age of this piece. I could not determine when the pattern was introduced or discontinued. Hallmarks: Printed "Tepco USA China". Dimensions: 7.5" Tall x 9.5" Long (spout to handle) x 4 Wide.
No visible crazing or discoloration. Paint and glaze intact with good color and without scratches or erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges.
No signs of previous repair or restoration. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. All dimensions and weights approximate. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition - this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment.
My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
