Magnificent Tilting Water Pitcher with Original Stand by Jas Stimpson with original signed medallion on bottom marking it as 1854 patent. This is a superb example of Victorian Aesthetic Movement design with Oriental/Egyptian and exotic influences, and natural floral engravings with geometric splendor on spout, handle, finial and stand. This has all the bell and whistles of the period. A rare and unique find. It fits well on the original stand designed to making pouring a glass of water effortless, rather than offering a pitcher that would take two people to lift it!
Due to the age and weight of this piece, it has had time to take on some bumps and dents, on the sides, front. The stand has remained intact and solid, working well to hold the pitcher, but there is some bent metal on the bottom perimeters. The good news is that the silvery surfaces have remained dazzling and reflective retaining its silver luster. Even with dents it makes an incredible display and decor piece. Complete with Egyptian styled faces on the stand, and just to keep the Aesthetic Design fabulous top to bottom, there is a small silverplate cow or steer resting on the bottom tier.10 1/2 wide from handle to spout.
