Saint Louis Tommy Pitcher/Water Jug, Hand-Cut Clear Crystal, France, Acid-Marked

  
This gorgeous Saint-Louis pitcher/water jug is stunning in its design. The bottom is wide and is hand-cut all the way around with a deep diamond cut. A beautiful and deep pattern of alternating mitres and lines with circle on top top the diamond cut as the body starts to curve upward and in toward the neck. The neck has its own flat cuts all the way around with a double band with diamond cuts between them extending around the front and sides of the neck. The top of the neck flows into an elegantly-curved pour spout. The handle extends high over the pitcher and then curves back down toward the body. As the handle curves from top to bottom, it becomes thicker. A wide notch cut also extends down the length of the handle. The bottom of the piece is round with a starburst pattern. Saint-Louis' acid mark appears in the center of the starburst. The only signs of wear appear on the bottom of the piece and consist of some scratching from movement.
