Rare and very elegant pair of Georgian sterling silver wine and water jugs, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1809. This is a beautiful pair of silver jugs made in the reign of King George III by Robert Gainsford in Sheffield 1809. The jugs have flared top rims and pouring spouts with lids and ball finials. The jugs have pinched necks and curving sides and they stand on round pedestal bases.

The jugs have'WINE' and'WATER' to the front. The jugs are 3 inches / 76 mm wide to the back of the handle and they stand 4-5/8 inches / 117 mm tall. The jugs weigh 172 grams. The jugs have hallmarks - lion passant, crown and K for Sheffield 1809, duty mark and maker's mark RG for Robert Gainsford.
