A large and rare'Excelsior' pattern water jug/pitcher designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser in around 1880 and manufactured by Old Hall Pottery Works in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, England.
The white pottery Aesthetic Period jug is fashioned in the Gothic Revival style, decorated with red geometric bands and gilt edging. It is offered in excellent condition with some wear to the gilt edging but no other damage. This is a highly impressive and handsome piece, and a real collector's item. Dimensions: 29cm(h) x 22cm(w).
