Large GORHAM #182 Wide Mouth 4-1/4 Pint Sterling Silver French Water Pitcher Jug. This listing is one of many lots of very fine estate antique silver we'll listing over the next few weeks. Today we are happy to offer for sale a beautiful vintage sterling silver water pitcher made by Gorham Silver.

This pitcher is in the Old French pattern, #182, a traditional and elegant simple design. The pitcher has a double stepped foot, a graceful handle with a thumb rest and delicate organic shaped shields where the handle joins the body. The mouth of the pitcher is beautifully flared and the top edge is rolled. Base is marked GORHAM (three touch marks) STERLING 182 5 (in a shield) 4 1/4 PINT.

Pitcher presents well and is in good vintage condition, with minor wear/scuffing, tarnish and patina commensurate with age and light use. There are three small and faint dings on the body of the pitcher (one on one side and two on the other side) which could easily be taken care of by a jeweler.
