This pristine water pitcher is from a single estate which has multiple, unique and impressive, sterling hollowware & flatware pieces which I will be listing over the next few weeks. It is indeed Mexican sterling silver, which is clearly stamped 925/1000's pure silver, but as you may know Mexican sterling tends to measure at a higher silver content. It is incised with the silhouette eagle dating this piece between 1955 to1979 at the latest. The eagle number is 218.
I regret I do not know what city this number represents. The manufacture's cartouche is seen in photo #11. This pitcher is nearly 12 tall and is solid silver free from any cement filling to weight the base. The leafy scroll pattern appears on the rim, the waste, and base. Again, the base is hollow and not cemented.
It is free from blemishes such as dents, scratches, pits etc. It is monogrammed on one side with the initials PBM. Holds 8 cups / 64 ounces.
Total Weight = 2.9 pounds. Total Sterling Weight Converted to Troy Weight = 39.12 troy ounces.Respectfully, this is not a scrap item and I will not entertain offers at 50% of the asking price. The item "GORGEOUS Lg 11-1/2 Mexican Sterling Silver.
