DURGIN STERLING WATER PITCHER c1910 HAND HAMMERED We are pleased to offer this turn of the century William B. Durgin sterling silver all over hand hammered water pitcher. In the Art Deco taste. Durgin apprenticed to Newell Harding, in Boston He opened his tiny shop in 1853, a spoon maker. He would fill a canvas satchel and in a horse drawn cart, sell hand made spoons door to door.

By the turn of the century, his work shop was crafting the finest table wares such as this hammered surface water pitcher. Period engraved Art Deco style initials EF for the original owner. This Durgin sterling all over hand hammered Art Deco water pitcher is 9 1/2 inches.

From handle to spout and 7 1/2 tall and weighs about 24 standard ounces. Bailey Banks & Biddle Co.

The interior clean as if little used. Retains original hand carved detail throughout.
