The Wilcox Silver Co began operation in 1865 while JA Simpson was organized in the early 1854's. The marks on the base indicate that it is plated by Simpson but it had to be after 1865. The ice water pitcher is in good condition considering its age. The silver plate has lots of shine and the finial is free of repairs.
The hinge is sturdy and the white porcelain liner is free of cracks or dents. There is a discoloration on the bottom of the inside or it may have been manufactured as shown.
The pitcher is monogrammed on each side and features an Ivy design around the mid section while the thumb rest looks to be Egyptian and the finial may be a deer. The pitcher is in good condition and pours as it should. It stands about 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. We do not believe in.
