Art Nouveau Style Repousse Iris Silverplate Etched Glass Water Pitcher Jug

  

Straight from England, this vintage silver-plated jug features an elaborate iris repousse grace the silver-plate portion of this glass claret jug, making it as much as piece of art as a functional item of serve ware, plus a flower bud finial on the hinged lid. The bell shaped clear glass appeared to be hand blown and skillfully etched in Iris pattern.

Substantial and impressive, the jug measures 7" W x 12" H. Signed three castle and C & Co logo indicates maker as Corbell & Company, founded in 1946 and moved to the US in 1951.
