Antique large size transferware ironstone floral water jug. A jug this size would likely have been used with a basin for bathing, meaning it was produced pre widely available taps dating it to circa 1900 or earlier. Ideal as an ornament, for serving drinks or used as a vase. Unusual floral pattern featuring orchids and other tropical vegetation. Marked'Surrey England' on base. No chips, cracks or crazing. There are some stray smudges of blue in parts which happened during production - just part of the charm of hand made object of this age (see photos for more detail).
