Up for your consideration is an antique c18th - early 19th century European/French Terra Cotta pottery jug or pitcher. We were told this is an 1700s to early 1800s, European pottery. There are great colors and markings on this jug. There are definitely signs that it was well used and loved. The dark color is from sitting at the hearth nest to the fire.

There are a few flat surface chips. The outside has a wonderful brushed rib design with no apparent glaze. The top edge has a green slip glaze which transitions to a butter yellow inside. This is a solid piece with no breaks or cracks that I can see.

Size - 10"H x 9"Diameter at widest point x 10.25L. If you pick Smart Post and Priority is cheaper I go with Priority. The majority of the items I sell are estate finds. As a result, I describe my items to the best of my ability. My opinion on the condition of each item is completely subjective.

As in almost all vintage items this piece has signs of wear, with some possible scratches and scuffs. All of these things added together is what makes these vintage pieces so attractive to us. It takes us back to an earlier, simple time, when things were not throwaway and disposable. Repurpose-chances are it won't be used in its original form, the possibilities of use are only limited by your imagination.

Reuse-too much from our lives is throwaway. We need to find new and creative ways to reuse, so we do not completely drown in the disposable.
