Amston Sterling Silver Water Pitcher #1005 Four Pint. A wonderful large solid Sterling Silver pitcher manufactured by AMSTON.

It is 9 inches tall at its highest point, spans 8 1\2 inches from the end of the handle to the tip of the spout lip, the base diameter is 4 1/4 inches, with a weight of 630 grams or 20.25 troy ounces. The bottom of the item is hallmarked in script with Amston, above in block letters STERLNG, above the numbers 10 05, above in block numbers/letters 4 PINT. At some point in addition to a date of Nov. 27, 1958, some personal information was lightly hand engraved on the bottom (See Photo).

The piece has light tarnish, minor scratches, and wear consistent with age and light use; there are no discernable dents or dings. It is not monogramed and there are no removals. Amston Silver Company was founded in 1910 and operated until 1940 when it was acquired by Ellmore. Guaranteed to be SOLID Sterling Silver aka 925/1000 or. 925 defined as 925 parts of pure silver to 75 parts of other metal (usually copper) per 1000 parts of material.
