A large sterling repousse water pitcher, Hennegan, Bates & Co, Baltimore

  

It is of typical inverted helmet form but this sterling repousse pitcher is the XL size. Very nice deep relief to the floral repousse decoration, even on the handle. The repousse is crisp with good detail and contrast. Although the company was in existence since 1856 , the name, Hennegan, Bates & Company, was adopted in 1874 and had a successful run to 1930.
