C. 1880 Antique VICTORIAN Aesthetic PAIRPOINT Silverplate Tilt Water Pitcher Cups

  

Antique Victorian Era - Aesthetic Movement Décor. Tilting Water/Wine Pitcher - 2 Matching Goblets (cups).

2 Goblets sit on their decorative bases - unique to find a set like this with 2 goblets. Decorations look like leaves and various types of flowers (could be considered oriental or tropical looking). Curved holder has ornate triangle decorations on the sides. Pitcher rests on two "pin" type holders. Made by Pairpoint Manufacturing Company.

Engraved on the front of the pitcher, "To Mary, From Aunt Rhoda". This old pitcher and goblet set came from an estate cleanout dealer in New Jersey. From base to top of the holder it measures about 19" tall and the two goblet cups stick out wider than base of holder measuring about 10" wide.

Each goblet is 5" tall and base 3" diameter. Pitcher by itself is about 13" tall from base to top of the finial and about 11.5" widest points spout to handle edge. Goblets marked 1602 on the bottom as well as quadruple plate Pairpoint Mfg. Pitcher marked on the bottom and I think it says 1802 1/8. The entire set holder, pitcher and 2 goblets is heavy weighs about 11 pounds unwrapped.

Condition - IMPORTANT --- please view the photos with this listing since they are the best description. It is difficult to describe an item like this, so old and used. I have not tried to polish or change the patina surface in any way. You will receive this item as it was found with the natural aging of the quadruple plate discolored to a grey color. Surface has marks, scratches, discoloration marks, rub off of top coat silverplate, etc.

Goblets have some ding dents and bends along top rim, especially on of them as you can see in the photos. Base of the holder also has an indent in the bottom rim, bends in a bit. Front two round goblet bases bend up slightly in front and do not sit perfectly flat on surface. If you have questions when item arrives, just let me know. This item is pre-owned, not new and not perfect, but just right for the collector who will understand and appreciate its unique value. You will receive the item in the pictures.
